Sierra Wildflowers
Wildflowers bring sunshine into your heart, with every color of the rainbow right in front of you, or under foot, if you keep your eyes open. From the desert climate of Death Valley and The Valley of Fire, NV, up through the Sierra Foothills, and the Sierra Nevada mountain range, the variety and colors are impressive, but ephemeral. That's why people drive for hours to see something like the Super Bloom in Death Valley, or the Poppies in Amador County. These images are mainly from the West Coast, starting in Oregon down through California, Nevada, and Utah.

on May 28, 2010Most of these photos are from last year. Our wildflower display hasn't really started yet, but we're looking forward to an impressive show. We just had snow again last night! Memorial Day weekend ! Everything will be late.

on May 28, 2010Great shot with great perspective and, of course, colors. Bet you had a good year in this often parched land.
