I have had the privilege of shooting with many talented photographers, but Ellie Stone was one of the brightest, most humble and encouraging people I’ve had the distinct pleasure to shoot with. The day I found out that she had passed at the age of forty, I drove to Lake Tahoe, with the intention of simply watching the sun set. I brought my camera, but not my tripod, walked along the shoreline, and stopped when I found a cairn. I sat quietly, remembering her engaging laugh, her sparkling eyes. And then, as the sun set, she smiled at me one last radiant time and left me with a gift of light.
